Project and execution of the works of signalling, power and communications for line 9 of FGV Alicante

The project objective is to homogenize the facilities of signalling, energy and communications for line 9, according to the rest of lines of FGV in Alicante. Therefore, the renewal of interlocks, power supplies, switchboards and existing telecommunications systems becomes necessary.

The solution to be implemented is based on the adaptation of existing elements and the assembly of new signalling elements, communications and energy in the section between the stations of Benidorm and Denia according to the criteria of FGV.

In this section there are a total of 17 stops, including stations and halts:

Disco Benidorm - CamíCoves - l'Alfas del Pí- El Albir - Altea - Garganes - Cap Negret - Olla de Altea - Calp - Ferrandet - Benissa - Teulada - Gata - la Xara - la Pedrera - Alqueríes - Dénia

It is a route of approximately 50 Km, in single track that runs almost entirely on surface and is not electrified.

The work will be implemented in four phases by subsections:

  • Phase I: Subsection Benidorm - Altea.
  • Phase II: Subsection Altea - Calpe.
  • Phase III: Subsection Calpe - Gata.
  • Phase IV: Subsection Gata - Denia.

Regarding the signalling systems, it is noted the installation of new interlocking plants of ENYSE technology (EiS23). The EiS23 is one new generation pioneer of electronic integrated interlockings for railway control, installed in the stations of Altea, pot of Altea, Calpe, Teulada, Gata and Denia. These devices govern the station itself and the blocking (B.A.U.) relations with adjacent interlocks. Besides, the integration of the new facilities planned for the system C.T.C. in Marina are being carried out.

In terms of the communication systems, it should be noted the installation of the infrastructure for the necessary TETRA network coverage in Benidorm – Denia, via the COMDES network, created and managed by the Generalitat Valenciana. Also, includes the installation of a single-mode optical fibre ring comprising 64 cores, and the creation of two communication networks: Gigabit network and signalling network, each one supporting the services assigned by FGV.

Furthermore, a public address and intercom system is provided in all stations and halts of the section, being centralized in the Command Post in La Marina.
