ENYSE opens two radio level crossings in Galicia

LC

ENYSE has completed works to protect two level crossings in the provinces of Coruña and Lugo, using the latest technology. There are currently only 18 level crossings throughout the Spanish railway network using this technology: the remote peripheral elements (railway signaling and alerts) are powered by photovoltaic panels and communicate with the central control system via a radio system.

Thus, ENYSE maintains its leadership in the railway sector, with 3 level crossings in service via Radio, which earned it Adif’s congratulations, one of the most demanding railway players in the world.

The level crossing via radio presents many improvements compared to the previous ones, among which we can highlight:

  • Simplicity in system engineering by combining the functionality of each crossing with a unique configuration of railway field elements and software.
  • Reduced assembly and wiring, in addition to using fewer components.
  • Flexibility in customizing functions specific for every installation, because each of them is only provided with previously defined data and easily implemented in the engineering phase.
  • Reduced installation in the field and in conjunction with system monitoring equipment in a CTC.
  • Integration of self-diagnosis and maintenance tools that are transmitted to a local or remote display.
  • Safety flexibility: the system allows the incorporation of different types of level crossings, as well as the verification and validation of the software and its railway functions according to CENELEC standards.

The execution of this work completed exactly the functional program of this type of protection, being tailored to the features of these stages: specifically, on the line Palencia - Coruña in pk 480/053 (municipality of Aranga), and 477/525 (municipality of Guitiriz).
